MEMPHIS TN (July 27) - Stock car racing legend James Harvey Hylton has long contended that short track racing can be a very expensive proposition. This point was made at Berlin's Wolverine Power Systems 200 as his trusty 2005 Ford Taurus (loving named "Martina" after country singer Martina McBride) was heavily damaged in a crash on lap 116.
Hylton's car hit an oil spot on the entrance to turn four and spun. Hylton was then collected by Jonathan Ellen in the Cunningham Motorsports Dodge and sustained heavy damage to the rear-end of the car. The race was captured by Justin Loftin in the Loftin's Cattle Toyota.
Special thanks to Melissa Bushey and Tom Devette for the photographs from the race.
Joe Laracuente: "it's tough and good to see James fixed the ol' car and he's still running!"
